The Wuppertal Institute performed an environmental impact study “LCA for Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA) - ´"Material Intensity and Greenhouse Potential of CMA" and "LCA for Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA) – Potential Damage”. According to the reports, CMA has a higher global warming potential compared to sodium chloride, but is less corrosive to metals.
